Put on Your TO COOK IS TO CREATE Thinking Cap: When checking inventory before hitting the store, also check for items that can easily make quick appetizers. Can of beans? Mash and drizzle with olive oil for a quick dip. No chips? Use pita bread or tortillas to make homemade chips, just spray with olive oil and bake 375* until crispy.Ā  Have popcorn? Pop a batch and top with parmesan cheese or mix bourbon or whisky into melted butter and give it a drizzle or spice up with chilies. Have pancake mix? Make mini pancakes and top with favorite toppings-sweet or savory. Have instant potatoes? Whip up a batch, scoop into a martini glass, and top with crumbled bacon, cheese, sour cream or chives, or form into balls, push a cube of cheese inside, chill, then coat with eggs and breadcrumbs and fry.
